tomorrow, March 31st, is Richmonds Ukrops Monument Avenue 10k. this will be my 2nd year to participate. I am SO NOT ready this year for it like i was last year but it will be fun nonetheless. my wave starts at 9:25am and i plan on jalking it or wog it (take your pick!). i've set my goal to complete the race in 1:45. i set the same goal last year and beat it by 2 minutes (1:43:03). i thought about trying for 1:40 but just in case... i don't want to disappoint myself. this race has become one of the most popular races in the US. there are 24,000 participatiants in the race tomorrow. whew-doggies, that's alot of folks! i have better shoes this year! last year i had what i called my "war wound". i had the biggest, ugliest, blister you ever did saw on the heel of my right foot. i had to go shoeless on that foot for several days. this year my shoes have a gel cushion on the exact spot! i'll post again monday to let you know how i done. :) until then...ya'll have a great weekend.

changes

hello everyone! sorry that it has been awhile since i've last posted. life and work has been CRAZY! but good crazy. ya know, when God makes changes in my life, good or sad, He pretty much drops them in my lap. at least that seems to be the pattern in the last 5 or so yrs. recently He has dropped two good things in my lap. First, a man in my life! yep, i am dating someone and he is a great guy. his name is Brian Martin. he is about 10 yrs older than i, a widower (his wife died 6 days shy of their 2nd yr anniversary-they were in their twenties), definitely a man of God and treats me like a princess. in fact he calls me princess. :) we have been dating for almost 2 months now and just praying daily for God's direction in our relationship.

the 2nd drop, a new car! totally unexpected. i'm a big Honda CRV fan. love 'em! got a brand new 07 Honda CRV. sun roof, leather seats, GPS system, XM radio... color is green tea. still have my liscense plate UH-NET but not quite as noticeable around town now. (my previous CRV was a bright bluish, purplish-or as my friend diana called it blurple!) Brian loves the GPS system and wants to play with it everytime we go somewhere. He wants to take my car and not his beat up old dodge. Go figure! :)

well, thanks for letting me share the new news in my life. oh, one more thing...my mom and i are going to Hawaii for my birthday in May. May 14-22nd. she and dad went twice before yrs ago and she decided she wanted to take me there for my birthday this year. it will be a special mother-daughter time. we need it. she had i have not really been alone together since dad died.
